Kevin To Celebrate 30th Birthday In Las Vegas

It won't all be child's play for Kevin Federline next month. The father of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1 – his children with ex-wife Britney Spears – will take a break from parenting on March 21 to celebrate his 30th birthday in Las Vegas, PEOPLE has learned.

Just like at his 29th birthday, Federline will celebrate at Caesars Palace's Pure nightclub. Last year, his parents and even ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson attended the bash at the club. Pure's Web site indicates that the DJ for March 21 will be DJ AM.

Kevin's Acting Career Gets A Boost

Kevin Federline's custody battle with ex-wife Britney Spears is doing wonders for the rapper's fledgling acting career.

After appearing briefly in episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and One Tree Hill, Federline's career really seems to be taking off, according to his lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan.

Kaplan says, "He is evaluating two or three opportunities right now and he'll decide shortly which one he wants to put his energy into."

The attorney is quick to point out that Federline's sons Sean Preston and Jayden James come first: "Regardless which job he chooses, it won't require him to be away from his children on any extensive basis." Federline won full and physical custody of his two sons last month (Jan08).

Hmmm ... It's nice to see Fed-ex act like he's not TOTALLY dependent on Britney Spears' child support payments to him!

Latest In Custody Battle

Sources tell TMZ Kevin Federline would like Britney to see her kids, even during the conservatorship. We're told K-Fed has no prob allowing the kids to visit Brit at her home, with one string attached - that Brit's parents are present during the visits.

We hear K-Fed isn't worried that anything bad would happen to the kids, his biggest concern is that Britney might drive with them, but Jamie would be there to put the kibosh on that. Sources also say K-Fed doesn't want custody 100% of the time - it's just too much. He'd like Britney to share custody or at least visitation.

And we're hearing there's talk Britney could go to a private facility for treatment and K-Fed would have no problem allowing the kids to visit her there, just as they did when Brit was at Promises. We're told there was a plan weeks ago to get Brit to an out-of-state facility but that didn't work out. Finding a private treatment facility is a priority, however, the powers of the conservators are limited and it just ain't that easy.

Here is a statement from Britney's attorney Anne Kiley (who is allegedly filing to be removed the from case today):

"The first amendment rights aren't absolute. We aren't trying to control the paparazzi, we are trying to control what we can control. We've heard nothing from the respondent (Kaplan) in his papers or arguments as to why it is that attorneys need to make statements to the media."

But it seems to be too little too late; Trope & Trope's request for a gag order on this case has been denied: "Mark Vincent Kaplan, objected to the gag request, stating that it was a violation of free speech. Kaplan said Kiley has accused him of leaking like a sieve. Kaplan also cited a conversation he had with Kiley that ended up on TMZ while the conversation was still taking place," according to TMZ.

Mark Vincent Kaplan's response:"You can order the biggest gag order you want, but that won't stop the paparazzi from following Ms. Spears. A gag order is usually in place during criminal trials where a jury of lay persons can be subject to information but that's not the case here."

This probably means the vulture will hold a nice big press conference since he loves hearing his own voice and the camera time.

UPDATE:

The lawyers couldn’t agree amongst themselves, Brit will not get visitation with Sean Preston and Jayden James. There is no change in the custody order. Also, the Commish made it clear - the issues with the conservatorship being removed to Federal court have no bearing on the custody case.

Also, Trope and Trope is out as Brit’s lawyer. Stacy Phillips is now the new lawyer on the case. It’s ironic, we know K-Daddy wants Brit to have visitation and the lawyers came to court today trying to accommodate that, but it didn’t happen.

E! Online reports possible interview

How hard up is Kevin to earn a buck on his own?

A major cable network has offered Kevin $200,000 for a sit-down, sources reveal to E! News exclusively—and he's seriously considering the offer.

"Of course, he's [also] been offered as much as a half million dollars for an interview," said a source close to Kevin. "But he'd have to talk about Britney."

That, however, is the one topic Federline has insisted is off-limits.

"But it doesn't matter, he can still make some money without talking about Britney," says a Kevin pal.

Really? So, what is K-Fed gonna talk about?

"He wants to talk about his acting, which he wants to do more of," said Kevin's friend. "And about his music producing, which he's still into."

And he'll talk about his struggles as a single dad.

"He can talk about fatherhood, without going into all the stuff with Britney," reveals our insider. "He can talk about everything else, just not his ex-wife directly."

Our source declined to say which cable company is negotiating with Kevin, but Federline may be waiting to see if he can drum up a competing offer, according to another source close to the negotiations.

Kevin's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, and manager, Dan Dymtrow, are reportedly helping him set up the deal, which first came up three weeks ago.

A call to Kaplan's office for comment was not returned.

"True, $200,000 is a lot of money," the insider close to the negotiations said. "But believe it or not, there could be people willing to pay even more."

Given the legal wrangling over Britney's estate, we say go for what you can, Kevin. Somebody's gonna have to put Sean Preston and Jayden James through college, and it may not be mommy.

Kaplan Hires New Media Consultant For Custody Case

TMZ has learned K-Fed's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, has hired über-publicist Elliot Mintz to be his new media consultant -- and we caught them out on the town to seal the deal.

The duo was at Mr. Chow last night when one photog asked if the pair were "teaming up for anything," to which Kaplan responded, "I think so."

Mintz, who famously repped John Lennon and Paris Hilton, takes over for Michael Sands -- who is now working for Sam Lutfi.

Kevin Attends Marc Jacobs' Fashion Show

Marc Jacobs’ front row tonight was filled with fashionistas such asVictoria Beckham, Anna Wintour. . . K-Fed? The budding actor’s rep confirmed his expected presence at the closing show of Fashion Week yesterday to PEOPLE, and he turned up to not just Jacobs’ show, but also Diddy’s Sean John line beforehand.
Clad in a Sean John pinstriped suit and a pink shirt — and sporting a mohawk– Kevin Federline came backstage to hug the rap-mogul and designer on the way to his front row seat. Once the lights dimmed, he was off to Marc Jacobs — for a quick change into that designer’s duds and a private banquette, where he sipped water as he watched the models come down the runway. And what did Federline think of the big show? He tells PEOPLE on his way out, “I thought it was great.” –Jeffrey Slonim

Kevin To Attend Fashion Show In NYC

Kevin Federline is attending Marc Jacobs' fashion show Friday, his rep tells Usmagazine.com.

Asked if he also will be performing, his rep says, "He's just attending the show. He got invited by Marc."

Federline, 29, is no stranger to the fashion world. While wed to Britney Spears, he told Details in 2005 that they wanted to co-launch a label called Pair A Dice "because dice are lucky for us.
"I’ve got a lot of good ideas about fashion that I want to put out there," he said at the time.

The former back-up dancer has also appeared in ads for the Five Star Vintage line by the San Francisco-based Blue Marlin clothing company.

A source tells E! News that Lynne Spears is supposed to take a break from trash-talking Sam Lutfi and head over to Federline's Valley home to babysit today, which we're guessing is going to stretch through Kevin's visit to the Big Apple. (K-Fed's rep has confirmed he is going to the Marc Jacobs show and will be in NYC for one day on business meetings but would not comment on who's caring for the children.)

Kaplan Fires Michael Sands

Sources confirm to OK! that Michael Sands, the man responsible for feeding Kevin Federline’s side of his custody battle with Britney Spears to the press, has been sacked by K-Fed’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan.

This news comes less than 24 hours after TMZ reported that Sands had been served a subpoena by Britney’s legal teams. The specific reason for the dismissal has not yet been confirmed, and it’s unknown whether or not it is directly related to the news about the subpoena.

Source: K-Fed Feels Hospital 'Best Place' for Britney

Kevin Federline is "worried" about Britney Spears and feels that the psychiatric hospital is the best place for her right now, a source tells PEOPLE.

Federline "doesn't want her to get out until she's made progress," the source close to Federline says. "This is obviously going to help her in the end – later, much later."

The source adds: "He's worried. ... He doesn't even know what's going to happen next."

Federline, 29, was not directly involved in the latest events, "but he was aware of what was happening," says another source, a friend of Federline's.

Unlike the first time Spears was sent to the hospital, the children were with Federline, the friend says.

"Kevin legitimately wants Britney to get better. He wants her to be in their sons' lives. He wants them to have a loving relationship. He wants her to get healthy so she can be the mother they need and deserve," says the friend.

This is the second trip to a hospital this month for Spears. On Jan. 4, she was forced into the hospital following a tense custody standoff involving sons Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1. A court commissioner has since stripped Spears of visitation privileges.

A third source close to Federline says that getting medical help again for Spears, 26, "has been planned for a long time. Her family is behind this."
